The Tag Everything You Need to Know
It’s a small NFC tag the same technology used in contactless credit cards and hotel key cards. It’s sewn into the interior collar label and stays with the garment for its entire life.
Yes. NFC tags are completely passive they have no battery, emit no signal, and produce no radiation. The tag does absolutely nothing unless a phone is deliberately held within a few centimetres of it. It is classified as safe for direct skin contact and has been used in children’s products worldwide.
No. This is the most important thing to understand. NFC is not GPS. It cannot track location, cannot broadcast a signal, and cannot be read from a distance. It only activates when you deliberately tap your phone to it. Think of it exactly like tapping your credit card at checkout it works only when you choose to use it.
Yes. The tag is fully waterproof and compliant with the ISO6330 home wash standard the industry benchmark for garment washing. It is designed to survive hundreds of wash cycles.
No. NFC has a maximum range of about 1-4 cm. Someone would need to hold a phone directly against your child’s collar to read it. It cannot be scanned remotely, wirelessly, or without your knowledge.

The tag is sewn into the collar label and is not designed to be removed. It stays with the garment so the loop works for every owner across the garment’s entire life.
